Brock Lesnar - very good for UFC and MMA

If you know me in any way you know that I love MMA and going out to watch UFC at Champ’s.  Some have even asked if Champ’s pay me to endirse them…I only wish they did (that is a huge hint Nate, Mr. Manager of Champ’s at Aspen Grove).  Anyways, for me MMA is the best thing to watch other than professional football.  If the NFL is not careful the UFC fan based will get so big it could even overshadow the NFL…in a few years maybe.

Back to the story, if you watched UFC 100, you saw a masterful beat down in the heavyweight division by Brock Lesnar.  His only MMA loss is to Frank Mir and he came in with anger and attitude and got his revenge as he beat Frank Mir’s face in.  This fight was one of the big reasons I watch MMA.  The pure gladiator feeling of it, the blood being sprayed everywhere, the arms and legs getting bent in ways they are not supposed to be bent.  Men are in nature drawn to violence and sex, that is why they have the card girls between every round.  We get to see the TNA and watch violence at the same time.  it is like watching a pure action movie.  Some people object and say that it promotes violence, exploits women and is just not a proper thing to have on TV or see live in person.  To those folks I say, “STFU and go help your kids solve the next Diego/Dora story!  These women are not exploited, they are working and getting paid for looking beautiful.  These men and women that fight are getting paid for putting on a great fight.  These men and women train very hard for their MMA fights.  If you dislike something, CHANGE THE CHANNEL!”

I have been watching MMA since I first saw the UFC live here in Denver on November 13th of 1993.  This is back when the fights were tournament style and not one on one.  You had to fight until the end and if you could not go an alternate was put in your place.  I watched with amazement and joy as the Legend Royce Gracie one that day.  He had to endure 3 fights that day and still showed his master ability of submissions.  I also one other legend that night, Ken Shamrock, get beat by Royce Gracie.  Since that day, I have been hooked and I can proudly say my wife is hooked as well.  Of course she loves the women fights just as much as I do.

Man, I keep getting off track here…back to the idea of this story now, Brock Lesnar.  I heard people “boo” and piss and moan about how he acted after he beat the ever living crap out of Frank Mir.  I disagree, what he did was draw more fans to the UFC.  People talked about this fight that night, the next day and are still talking.  That talk leads to more people watching and more people getting hooked.  Everyone wants to know who this bad boy is, who this jerk ass is, who this guy is that made fun of his beaten down opponent.  The people that hate Brock Lesnar will now tune in just to see if he loses.  I even heard people call him the fat-ass of the UFC, the wanna be champion and even the lucky champion.  How the hell do you get that out of a guy who is built like a tank and has always been a champion in every thing he did?!?  Brock Lesnar did exactly what he should have done, beat his opponent down, talk trash as he tried to get up and let the Las Vegas crowd know how he felt about them cheering on Frank Mir.  He is a fighter folks, not a freaking suit running for President.  His job is to beat the crap out of whoever steps in against him and be proud of it.  He is the champion, the UFC Heavyweight Champion…enough said.

When the fight was done, Brock decided to let everyone know what was running through his mind.  “I’m going to go home tonight and drink a Coors Light because Bud Light won’t pay me,” said Lesnar, pointing at the logo of the presenting sponsor of the event. “I’m going to sit down with my friends and family and hell, I might even get on top of my wife tonight.”  I personally think that is awesome!  If Bud Light decided to not pay him, then screw them.  If he wants to go go home with the boys, the family and knock his wife out in bed…good for him and damn good for her!

One other comment that drove Frank Mir fans crazy was, “Frank Mir had a horseshoe up his ass and I told him that a year ago,” said Lesnar, who refused to touch gloves or shake hands with Mir before or after the fight. “I pulled that [expletive] down and I beat him up. Whooo!”.  WHOOO is right baby!  This is not a gentlemen’s game people, this is war, this is the real Gladiator sport.  The only thing we are missing is Caesar and the Colosseum.

Remember, for every good guy there is always a bad guy.  We need bad guys, we need hated opponents to boo, we need Brock Lesnar in the UFC.

God Bless Dana White for the UFC!
