What is the meaning of life? Why are we here doing what we do? What happens in the end? How do I know if I won or lost in this thing we call life? Well, to be honest…I am not sure exactly. The End.
Just kidding, you had to know I would not end it like that. I always have something to share and some crazy left brain wisdom about everything. I may be wrong and I may be right, but I like to think I am both.
I was asked by someone on the train the other day, “What is the meaning of life? Why are we here?”. I looked at them expecting a drunk lost homeless soul, but in fact it was a young lady with a very lost look in her eyes. *Note - this is what happens when you forget your MP3 player at home* I looked at her and thought…I am not sure but just so you know, you have a booger hanging from your nose. I thought for a bit and it hit me, why am I here and what am I doing? I get up everyday for work and my kids. I eat, I play, I eat, eat a bit more, work, play with the kids, engage with the wife, eat some more, pay bills, do yard work, fix the house, do laundry, work on the trucks, work on computers/servers…but is that it??? I mean we go out, we have friends and take vacations…but what are we really doing? I thought about life without my kids…I would be bored out of my mind. My wife is my best friend, my kids are mini versions of us and we do everything to protect them and give them everything to succeed. But is that it??? Do I work and make a living just to pass along at old age and become ashes in the wind? I really thought about this and realized that we become creatures of habit. We do the same things all the time, the same places, the same people and so on. Is that what it is all about? Then I thought, no. I looked at this young lady and told her as proud as could be.
“I am here to make my wife and children as happy as possible. I work everyday to ensure that my kids have the things they need and can enjoy life without worry. I take my wife on cruises to escape the normal everyday life. I have my friends for comfort and socialization. I live my life the way i think it should be lived. I cause ripples in the World to make sure I am alive. I laugh at stupid things because I find them funny. I hate, love, cherish and ridicule because I can. We are all here for a different reason and we need to search for that reason. Some people are here to entertain, cause problems, lead others, help others, fix others and so on. I am here for 2 reasons, my wife and my children. When my time comes, I will pass away and my ashes will be spread all over the ocean and Minnesota lake waters. To sum up life in three words…it goes on. This is my stop and I have to leave now. Now go find your reason and live it everyday.”
I am not sure if that is what she expected but that is how it came out. Just remember those three little words. It goes on.
Follow up - I saw the young lady on the train again and she just smiled and said, “it goes on”. She proceeded to say thank you and she sat down and started reading. After hearing that I realised that I may have made her life a lot easier. We all have those days where we just want to run and hide or scream at everyone. What if we talked to a complete stranger everyday just to let them know we see them and acknowledge them?
Life - It goes on.

Everyone knows my love for music and my love for the talented musicians. I have been meaning to add these videos but it has been a bit crazy lately. I first heard DubFX back in early 2008 and he has got some skills to say the least. He is most famous for his solo songs on the street with no music other than himself mixing himself. If that makes no sense, it’s okay. DubFX makes his own music with his mouth and mixes it live in front of your eyes. Below is a couple of his videos of his magic. Enjoy.

Okay, maybe it will not cure the World. I do think it could cure some sadness and some of our everyday high tension. Think about it folks, if we all just started dancing in public and hundreds joined in, what mood would you be in after 5 minutes? What if our soldiers over seas just started dancing with the locals? What if a cop pulled you over and asked you to step out of your car and danced with you? Would that make you happy or would you still be pissed and grumpy needing another $5 coffee from Starbucks?!? These commercials are not only funny in a sense but they force a good feeling as well. I think I will head to downtown Denver this coming Tuesday and bring the radio and just start dancing for no reason to see how many folks would actually join in with me. Maybe I will look like a silly little white boy on the sidewalk but I bet I can make at least one person smile. Now since Chris, Crystal and Travis are close by…you have to join in.
For those of you who do not know what these videos are, watch and enjoy.
Lighten up people, we only live once.

I am not a Star Trek fan so to speak but will watch the new movie I suppose. I am however a Star Wars fan and once I saw this video I actually laughed. It is actually pretty good and brings back memories of Troopers.
